February is the shortest month of the year with 28 days, except on leap years when it has an extra day. This month was named after the Latin word "februum" which means purification, due to a Roman purification ritual that happened during this month. February also marks the beginning of the astrological sign of Aquarius (January 20 to February 18) and ends with Pisces (February 19 to March 20). It is also famous for Valentine's Day, which is celebrated on February 14th, and Black History Month in the United States and Canada. In some cultures, February is known as the month of love and fertility, while in others it is considered a time of introspection and reflection.
